2.Application and Usage
This is two-part addition curing agent for silicone rubber. Both parts should be used together in curing process with low curing temperature and short curing time.
Curing by molding, extrusion or calendaring,Actual mold temperature 100¡æ-120¡æ
Example:
Mix ratio of A: 0.7~ 1.2%, depends on the end product
Mix ratio of B: 1.4~2.4%, depends on the end product
Mixing Process:
For example: To mix with 20kg precipitated silica based silicone rubber
Quantity of PT-A: 0.7% ¡Á 20kg = 140g (Part A)
Quantity of PT-B:1.4% ¡Á 20kg = 280g (Part B)
1.Mill 20kg silicone rubber completely to make it soft, other additives such as pigment could be added into at this time if necessary.
2.Take Part B with the silicone rubber to mix in open mill, then leave it to be cold .
3.Put Part A into the silicone rubber which mixed with part B to mill completely.
4.Leave the compound to be cold, then take it for curing process .
¡ù Keep the temperature of roller of open mill below 35¡æ . Suggest to use circle water to make the roller cool down , or work in the room equipped with air conditioner.
3. Package, Storage and Handling
T-A: 1kg/can and 8cans /carton
PT-B: 1kg/can and 8cans /carton
1. Keep away from high temperature, direct sunlight, acidic material, metal oxides and flammable material. Put in dry place in the room temperature below 25¡æ for 6 month.
2. These products are not hazardous chemicals, which can be transported by normal cargo.
Remark£º
Do not use the material contains nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, lead, cadmium, polyvinyl, multi- acetylene based, which would react with the platinum catalyst to fail in curing process.
Some silicone colors would react with the platinum catalyst to make the platinum catalyst inactivated, so make test on small quantity before mass production.
The shelf life of silicone compound (mixed with platinum catalyst and crosslinker) is 4-8 hours After the shelf life, it would be cured at room temperature If you need to extend the shelf life, add the retarder
If the silicone rubber contains hydrogen based silicone oil, the end product would has bubble after extrusion.
If the silicone rubber contains hydrogen based silicone oil, it would make the rubber hardened while mixing only with platinum catalyst .
Mix ratio is depended on different type of silicone rubber and different type of end product.
